How’s your wellie throwing?
Here at Field of Dreams we are limbering up for the Cork Summer Show and we are concentrating on FUN & Filling the Field with Flowers & Dreams. On Saturday we are hosting wellie throwing competitions.
For the uninitiated in the finer art of wellie throwing the aim is to get distance into the throw towards open space and not, ahem, to hit a fellow human. Stewards from Down Syndrome Cork, whose decision will be final, will be on hand to assist with aim and to identify the winners. All shoe sizes welcome. It is not essential to bring your own wellie as we will have a fine array of Field of Dreams Cork Wellies in all shapes and sizes on hand. However if you are wearing wellies then you will be required to throw one of your own. We hope that this negates your obvious advantage – anyone wearing wellies to the Cork Summer Show will have ample opportunity to practice in advance.
All boot wagging aside, on both the Saturday and Sunday of the Show we will be Filling the Field with Flowers: Tissue paper flowers. You, your gran and your uncle Paddy are invited to come along to our log cabin and make a flower with us. Place your dream in the flower and ‘plant’ your creation in our beautifully reproduced ‘Field’ by talented furniture designer Dara Llewellyn. Lots of #selfie opps if you’re into them. We can’t guarantee that the sun will be shining outside our cabin but we guarantee sunshine inside.
The Cork Summer Show, 2016 is on 18th and 19th of June in the Cork Show Grounds, Curraheen. A Wellie load of thanks to Gerard Murphy and Munster Agricultural Society for their continued support of our Dream.
